Chilko Lake — called the most beautiful lake in BC by the earliest explorers down to present day tourists. And no wonder — spectacular, glaciated peaks surround the south end of the lake, while rolling plateau country abuts the north end. As well as portraying the beauty of this lake, the poster describes the conflicting interests regarding its future and what eventually became a power struggle between the local First Nations and outside interests. The final result was the creation of Tsylos Provincial Park in 1994.
